The Thinking Behind Next Practice
I founded Next Practice Consulting on a simple belief: doing things the way they’ve always been done isn’t always the best way forward.
After more than a decade working in the nonprofit and community sector, I’ve seen how good ideas can get lost in complex systems, competing priorities, and limited organizational capacity. I created NPC to help bridge that gap by bringing together practical experience, systems thinking, and a commitment to equity to help organizations and communities work better, challenge what isn’t working, and create meaningful change.
What Makes My Approach Different
Systems-aware and equity-centred: I look beyond individual challenges to understand the structures, relationships, and power dynamics shaping them, recognizing when systems need to be improved and when they need to be reimagined.
Practical and capacity-conscious: Good strategies need to work in the real world. I develop solutions that consider the time, resources, and capacity of the people responsible for implementing them.
Collaborative and grounded in experience: I bring more than a decade of sector experience, but I don’t assume I have all the answers. I work alongside organizations and communities, combining professional expertise with local knowledge to build solutions that last.
